Scandinavian airline SAS will resume flights to Beirut, which had been suspended since October 2023 due to the conflict between Israel and Hamas. Starting in June, the airline will offer five weekly flights to the Lebanese capital—three from Copenhagen and two from Stockholm-Arlanda.
The route's reactivation follows the recent truce in Gaza and aligns with the decision of several European airlines to restore connections with Lebanon.
The schedules are designed to facilitate connections to destinations in North America and Northern Europe, while also catering to passengers traveling for family or personal reasons (VFR). Currently, SAS is the only airline offering direct flights between Scandinavia and Lebanon.
"Many of our customers have been eagerly awaiting the return of this route. It is a key connection for those visiting family and friends, and we are pleased to reintroduce a direct and convenient service," said Henrik Winell, SAS Vice President of Network.
