SATENA, the Colombian development airline, began operations with its first Twin Otter DHC-6 Series 400. This aircraft, specialized in operating in hard-to-reach areas, will enable communities in various regions of the country to have an air transportation option. In December, SATENA received the second of eight aircraft ordered, which will be delivered throughout 2025.
The inaugural flight of the Twin Otter took place on Thursday, January 16, on the Medellín-Condoto route. “The incorporation of the Twin Otter into our fleet represents a significant step forward in meeting the transportation needs of the communities. These new routes not only improve access to essential services but also promote the social and economic development of the regions," stated Major General Óscar Zuluaga, president of SATENA.
SATENA’s new Twin Otter will connect Medellín with three key destinations: Condoto, El Bagre, and Montelíbano.
