Sections of the First Airbus A350F Arrive in Hamburg, Marking a Key Milestone
The event marks a step forward in the production of Airbus' new cargo aircraft.
Sections of the first Airbus A350F have begun arriving at Finkenwerder Airport in Hamburg, Germany, marking a significant step forward in the development of the European manufacturer's new cargo aircraft.
Recently, the side fairings of the A350F, corresponding to sections 16 and 18, were delivered to Hamburg by Premium Aerotec, a company based in Augsburg. Additionally, the first A350F section 19, completed in November in Getafe, was spotted in Hamburg.
Despite this progress, on February 20, during the presentation of its 2024 financial results, Airbus announced that the A350F's entry into service had been postponed to the second half of 2027, according to reports from our partner outlet, Aeroin.
Initially, the aircraft was scheduled to enter operation in 2026, but this timeline was pushed back. Airbus cited supply chain issues, specifically related to aircraft parts manufacturer Spirit AeroSystems, as the primary cause of production delays affecting the A350 family and other models.
Major airlines such as Air France-KLM Group, Singapore Airlines, Etihad Airways, and Starlux Airlines are among the first customers for the new A350F model.
The introduction of this freighter is expected to strengthen Airbus' position in the cargo aviation market, enhancing its competitiveness in a sector increasingly demanding efficient logistics solutions and currently dominated by Boeing.
