SKY Airline to Expand Domestic Flights in Peru with New Lima Airport Terminal
Over 3.7 Million Seats Offered in 2025: SKY Airline’s Expansion Plan in the Peruvian Market
SKY Airline plans to increase its domestic flight operations in Peru, leveraging the upcoming inauguration of the new passenger terminal at Lima’s Jorge Chávez International Airport (LIM). This new facility complements the recently operational second runway and control tower, marking a significant expansion for Peru’s main aviation hub.
Lima Airport Expansion to Unlock Growth
The current terminal’s limitations have restricted passenger flow, despite Jorge Chávez ranking as the fifth busiest airport in Latin America and the Caribbean in 2024. According to Lima Airport Partners (LAP), the airport handled 24,495,815 passengers in 2024, a 14.7% increase, setting a new traffic record.
The new terminal’s official opening is scheduled for March 31, 2025, following multiple delays. LAP and the Ministry of Transport and Communications (MTC) are focused on ensuring a smooth transition between terminals while meeting international civil aviation standards and enhancing passenger experience.
With the terminal, second runway, and new control tower fully operational, airlines will have greater capacity to expand their operations.
SKY Airline’s Domestic Growth Strategy
According to Cirium data, SKY Airline will expand its domestic flight offerings in Q2 2025, surpassing 350,000 available seats. By the end of the year, the airline will provide over 3.7 million seats, representing a 12.2% increase compared to 2024.

SKY will compete with LATAM Airlines on these routes, with the following schedule:

- Cusco – Puerto Maldonado: Daily flights with Lima connections from March 10, 2025 (LATAM: 7 weekly flights)
