SKY Airline to Launch New International Route Between Puerto Montt and Bariloche
The addition of this new route reflects SKY Airline's ongoing commitment to expanding its network in secondary cities, enhancing regional connectivity, and improving tourism and trade opportunities between Chile and Argentina.
On April 4, a new air route will begin operations, connecting Puerto Montt with Bariloche, Argentina. This service will provide a faster and more efficient alternative to the five-hour land journey, with a direct flight lasting approximately 45 minutes.
Operated from El Tepual Airport in Puerto Montt, it will be the only international route from this terminal and the only direct connection between these two regional cities—a significant milestone in regional connectivity.
Using Airbus A320neo aircraft, SKY Airline will operate two weekly flights (Monday and Friday), offering a weekly capacity of 744 seats with the following schedule:
Puerto Montt (PMC) - Bariloche (BRC)
• Departure: 15:15 | Arrival: 16:00 | Flight H2 2701 | Direct (45 minutes)
Bariloche (BRC) - Puerto Montt (PMC)
• Departure: 17:00 | Arrival: 16:45 | Flight H2 2702 | Direct (45 minutes)
According to Cirium, it has been 17 years since LATAM last connected these cities, with service ending in March 2008.
This new route will also complement the seasonal flights between Santiago and Bariloche, which operate three to four weekly flights during winter and summer. For the rest of the year, flights between Santiago and Bariloche will include a stop and plane change in Puerto Montt.
Since its arrival in 2022, SKY Airline has transported 64,147 passengers in San Carlos de Bariloche, according to ANAC Argentina.
