    Smartwings and Eurowings have started the first phase of a codeshare agreement as of March 21, giving customers more travel options on their intra-European flights.

    The Czech airline places its «QS» code on Eurowings flights between Prague (PRG) and 16 destinations: Cologne (CGN), Hamburg (HAM), Düsseldorf (DUS), Bristol (BRS), Birmingham (BHX), Copenhagen (CPH), Barcelona (BCN), Athens (ATH), Larnaca (LCA), Heraklion (HER), Malaga (AGP), Alicante (ALC), Stockholm – Arlanda (ARN), Faro (FAO), Rome – Fiumicino (FCO) and Palma de Mallorca (PMI).

    Smartwings customers will now be able to benefit from more direct connections to a wide range of destinations throughout Europe.

    Both airlines announced this agreement in early November 2021. In the next phase of this partnership, Eurowings is scheduled to place its code on flights operated by the Czech carrier.

    CEO words:

    «The launch of our partnership comes at exactly the right time. After two years of being cooped up at home, the desire to travel is stronger than ever. We are currently seeing an increase in bookings. Not only in the Czech Republic, but across our entire route network» said Jens Bischof, CEO of Eurowings.

    For the summer season, Eurowings will be opening its base in Prague (PRG). This will certainly allow the expansion of its operation in Central Europe. It will count with three Airbus A320 aircraft with a Czech crew. The flights will be operated through Eurowings Europe (2W).

    From Prague (PRG), Eurowings will have an offer of 18,912 seats in 126 air operations, through 17 destinations.(Source: Cirium plaftorm). Its network will be to major tourist destinations in Europe such as Spain, Greece, Italy, among others.

    «We are pleased that, in cooperation with Eurowings, we can expand our network to flights operated by Eurowings. Therefore we can offer convenient connections to a wide portfolio of destinations» said Roman Vik, CEO of Smartwings.

    Smartwings’ summer schedule from Prague (PRG) will offer scheduled flights to 51 destinations. This will include the newest one to Santorini (JTR). The Czech Low-Cost airline will have an offer of 73,378 seats per week in 384 air operations. (Source: Cirium)

    Smartwings will also offer scheduled and charter flights from Czech regional airports: Brno (BRQ), Ostrava (OSR), Pardubice (PED), and Karlovy Vary (KLV).
