Spirit Airlines to Launch Direct Flights Between New Orleans and Tegucigalpa
Spirit Airlines has announced a new direct flight between New Orleans and Tegucigalpa, operating twice a week. This will be the airline’s second route to the Honduran capital, complementing its existing service from Fort Lauderdale.
With this addition, New Orleans becomes the fifth U.S. city with direct flights to Tegucigalpa, joining routes operated by:
- United Airlines (from Houston-Intercontinental)
- American Airlines (from Dallas/Fort Worth and Miami)
- Spirit Airlines (from Fort Lauderdale)
Flight Schedule: New Orleans (MSY) – Tegucigalpa (XPL)
Launch Date: May 8, 2025
- Flight NK 747: MSY 09:30 AM – XPL 11:00 AM (Thursdays and Sundays)
- Flight NK 748: XPL 12:10 PM – MSY 03:50 PM (Thursdays and Sundays)
The service will be operated with Airbus A320 aircraft, featuring 176 seats. Fares start at $119 per one-way trip.
