Taiwanese carrier Starlux Airlines continues its transpacific expansion with the launch of a new nonstop route between Taipei (TPE) and Ontario (ONT), California. With this addition, the airline will serve three airports in California and four in North America.
In this market, Starlux will compete with China Airlines’ daily service, while also increasing its Los Angeles (LAX) operations to ten weekly flights.
Enhanced Connectivity in Southern California
The new Ontario International Airport (ONT) route aims to provide an alternative gateway for travelers between the U.S. and Asia. According to Starlux, this option offers more convenient access to Southern California, as Ontario is just 40 minutes from Disneyland and can reduce travel times by up to two hours compared to other regional airports.
With this expansion, Starlux will operate 14 weekly flights to the Los Angeles metropolitan area, maintain its daily service to San Francisco (SFO), and increase its Seattle (SEA) route frequency from three to seven weekly flights.
