The Rio Gallegos airport closes for four days due to maintenance works
The Piloto Civil Norberto Fernández Airport will temporarily close in January for maintenance works on the runway and taxiway.
The Piloto Civil Norberto Fernández International Airport in Rio Gallegos, located in the province of Santa Cruz, will remain closed from January 27 to January 30 to carry out maintenance tasks on its main runway.
According to Aeropuertos Argentina 2000, the concessionaire company, the closure will allow for maintenance tasks on the main runway of the air terminal, seeking to guarantee optimal safety conditions for operations.
During the period of closure, Aerolineas Argentinas will adjust its operations to El Calafate Airport (FTE), also located in the province of Santa Cruz, which will temporarily serve as an alternative airport for travelers who were scheduled to depart or arrive in Rio Gallegos.
The Rio Gallegos airport operates domestic flights mainly to Buenos Aires and other Patagonian destinations.
