TUI Airways Expands Caribbean Offerings with Seasonal Belfast–Punta Cana Route
TUI Airways to Launch New Summer 2026 Service Between the British Isles and Punta Cana
TUI Airways is set to expand its Caribbean network with the launch of a seasonal service between Belfast and Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. The new route will begin operations on June 20, 2026, and will run for four weeks. Flights will be operated on Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft, complementing the airline’s existing connections to Punta Cana from London-Gatwick, Manchester, Birmingham, Amsterdam, and a charter service from Stockholm-Arlanda.
Travelers will have the option to book 14-night vacation packages in popular destinations such as La Romana, Bayahíbe, San Pedro de Macorís, Punta Cana, Bávaro, Cap Cana, Miches, and Uvero Alto.
Craig Morgan, TUI’s Managing Director for Ireland, emphasized the significance of the new route: “We’re delighted to offer our customers in Northern Ireland the opportunity to fly directly to the Dominican Republic next summer. This will be the only direct flight between Belfast and the Caribbean island, opening up new accommodation options and unique travel experiences.”
With this addition, Punta Cana becomes the third long-haul destination served from Belfast, alongside Cancún (Mexico) and Orlando-Melbourne (Florida, USA). TUI also maintains a strong network of short- and medium-haul flights to destinations such as the Canary Islands, Cyprus, Turkey, Spain, Portugal, and Greece.
Dan Owens, Chief Executive of Belfast International Airport, highlighted the importance of the new service: “This route reinforces our commitment to expanding direct connectivity from the airport, providing travelers with more accessible and convenient options.”
