T’way Air inaugurates its first route to Europe

T’way Air inaugurated its first service to Europe from Seoul. The South Korean company arrived in Zagreb (ZAG) on May 16th from Incheon International Airport (INC) with a stopover in Bishkek (FRU), Kyrgyzstan.

The route will be operated using Airbus A330-300 aircraft, which can accommodate 347 passengers. The inaugural flight, lasting 15 hours and 30 minutes, carried 337 passengers.

A technical stop in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, is required for refueling due to the closure of Russian airspace. If the airspace were open, the route would pass over the North Pole, significantly reducing travel time.

Flight TW505 departs from Incheon Airport at 11:05 AM (local time), arriving in Zagreb at 7:55 PM. The return flight departs ZAG at 9:25 PM and lands in Seoul at 3:25 PM the next day.

The route will have three weekly flights on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays until October 26th.

The first flight of T’way Air to Zagreb was celebrated with an inaugural ceremony attended by representatives from the Korean Embassy, the Croatian Tourist Board, and Zagreb International Airport.

T’way Air CEO Hong-Geun Jeong stated: “T’way Air is committed to developing the tourism industry in Croatia and fostering a mutually beneficial relationship between the two countries by promoting more human and material exchanges.”

T’way Air operates a fleet of 26 Boeing 737-800s, 4 Boeing 737 MAX 8s (2 more pending) and 3 Airbus A330-300s. Its network consists mostly of destinations in South East Asia, plus the newly opened Zagreb and Sydney.
