United Airlines introduces flights from Tokyo to Mongolia starting May 2025
United Airlines expands its global network with the launch of flights between Tokyo-Narita and Ulaanbaatar, becoming the first U.S. airline to operate to Mongolia. The new route aims to meet growing demand in Asia and strengthen connections from the United States
United Airlines begins selling flights to Mongolia with the launch of seasonal services between Tokyo-Narita and Ulaanbaatar three times a week, expanding its global network of destinations and becoming the first U.S. airline to fly to this Asian country.
The introduction of this new route highlights the growing demand for connectivity between the United States, Japan, and Mongolia, as well as United’s continuous growth in Asia. In this service, the U.S. airline competes with Aero Mongolia and MIAT Mongolian Airlines.
Nearly half a million people visited Mongolia in 2024, representing an increase of 25% compared to 2023.
Last year, United resumed its intra-Asian flights with the launch of its service between Tokyo-Narita and Cebu, in the Philippines. This year, the airline will also introduce new services from the Japanese capital to Taiwan and Palau.
The flight schedule is tailored to both local demand and connecting passengers traveling from the United States and other international cities via Tokyo.
