United Airlines Reaches 1,000 Aircraft in Its Fleet
It achieved this milestone with the delivery of a Boeing 737 MAX 9.
United Airlines has reached a major milestone with the delivery of its 1,000th aircraft, a Boeing 737 MAX 9 (registration N77584), further solidifying its position as one of the largest airlines in the world by fleet size.
The new 737 MAX 9, acquired through a lease agreement with Aviation Capital Group, is powered by CFM International LEAP-1B engines. It features a seating configuration of 20 seats in United First and 159 in economy class, including United Economy Plus and standard economy.
This latest addition strengthens United’s operational capacity ahead of the summer season, during which the airline plans to serve 360 destinations and operate 800 daily flights to 147 international cities.
Looking ahead, United Airlines is set to receive 10 wide-body aircraft and 71 single-aisle jets in the coming months. The airline's order book extends through 2030, with over 680 aircraft on order, including 40 Airbus A321neo units under lease agreements.
Additionally, the company is preparing to take delivery of a Boeing 737 MAX 8 (registration N17359), which recently completed its test flights.
