Colombia’s Civil Aviation Authority (Aerocivil) has revealed that Avianca has applied to operate flights between Bogotá (BOG) and Port of Spain (POS), Trinidad and Tobago.
According to the document (in Spanish), the Colombian airline is seeking to operate up to seven weekly frequencies with 3rd and 4th freedom traffic rights, using Airbus A319, A320ceo, and A320neo aircraft.

If approved, this would become Avianca’s sixth Caribbean destination, joining Aruba (AUA), Curaçao (CUR), Havana (HAV), Punta Cana (PUJ), and Santo Domingo/Las Américas (SDQ).
The market between Trinidad and Tobago and Latin America remains limited, with only two existing connections: Copa Airlines to Panama and Caribbean Airlines to Caracas.
