UPS has taken a significant step in its fleet renewal strategy by ordering eight additional 767-300F freighters, according to records from Boeing in December 2024.
The December 2024 order was the first request for this model since 2022, but the manufacturer had not immediately disclosed the customer. It was only after the release of Boeing's orders and deliveries report in January that it was confirmed UPS was responsible for this new acquisition, as reported by our partner publication, AEROIN.
The 767-300F is a widely used model in cargo operations, which had not received new orders in the past two years. Boeing is expected to continue 767 production until shortly before the end of the decade, when it is scheduled to be discontinued according to current plans.
The fact that Boeing has recorded new orders for this model suggests a possible recovery in cargo aircraft demand, although there have been no recent requests for the 777F or 777-8F versions.
