Voepass returns another ATR aircraft to its owner
The aircraft is crossing the Atlantic on its flight back to Europe.
An aircraft formerly operated by Voepass Linhas Aéreas is crossing the Atlantic to be returned to its owner.
The regional airline, based in Ribeirão Preto, has been grounded for over a month and filed for judicial recovery this week, which is still under review. Meanwhile, another aircraft that was under lease has already been returned to its lessor.
Registered as PS-VPE in Brazil, this aircraft was one of the last received by Voepass, having arrived at the company on April 12, 2024, and now departs just over a year after its arrival in the country.
The aircraft, bearing serial number 1116, was manufactured in 2013 for an original order by Colombia’s Avianca, where it operated until 2023. It was then returned to the lessor and subsequently leased to Voepass, according to information published by our associated media outlet Aeroin.
On the afternoon of April 25, the aircraft departed from Ribeirão Preto and flew to Natal, and today it left the capital of Rio Grande do Norte bound for Sal Island in Cape Verde. After a stopover in the African country, located in the middle of the Atlantic, the aircraft is expected to continue to Europe, although it does not yet have a new operator assigned.
