WestJet launches seasonal flights between Calgary and New York-LaGuardia
WestJet continues to grow its presence in North America with the launch of a seasonal route between Calgary and New York-LaGuardia, starting in May 2025. This new service strengthens connectivity with its partner Delta Air Lines and enhances travel options to the Big Apple, complementing year-round flights to John F. Kennedy International Airport
WestJet expands its transborder network with a new seasonal service between Calgary and New York-LaGuardia, enhancing travel options to the Big Apple and strengthening WestJet's main hub.
The addition of New York-LaGuardia, a hub for its transborder partner Delta Air Lines, allows WestJet to improve connectivity to Delta’s extensive domestic U.S. network. By adding more flights to the Big Apple, WestJet consolidates its position as a leisure-focused airline as travel demand continues to grow across North America, particularly during the summer season.
"There is a great appetite for flights to New York, whether it’s to visit the city to enjoy a Broadway show, a concert, attend a Yankees game, explore Central Park, or simply as a future layover. Adding this route boosts our ability to meet this demand and offer passengers more options," said Daniel Fajardo, Vice President of Network Planning and Scheduling at WestJet.
The new service between Calgary and New York-LaGuardia will be available for sale starting January 20, 2025, with flights scheduled from May 24 to August 30 operating once weekly. This new route complements WestJet's year-round flights between Calgary and John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York, providing passengers with more flexibility and travel choices.
