Wingo will increase its capacity by 10% in 2025
The airline projects over 500,000 additional seats during the summer 2025 season, according to the IATA calendar.
Wingo will strengthen its operations in the Colombian domestic market by increasing capacity by 10%, adding 2,680 flights to its current domestic routes. This operational adjustment translates to an average of 108 additional flights per month, allowing the airline to offer over 20,000 extra seats each month.
The updated schedule will take effect on March 30, 2025, coinciding with the start of the summer season according to the International Air Transport Association (IATA) calendar. In total, Wingo plans to offer more than 500,000 additional seats throughout the season compared to the same period last year.
Among the routes with the most significant expansion are Bogotá-Cali, Bucaramanga-Bogotá, Medellín-Cartagena, and Medellín-Santa Marta, which will see an increase of more than 20% in available seats. Other connections, such as Bogotá-Armenia, Bogotá-Cartagena, Barranquilla-Medellín, and Bogotá-Medellín, will experience growth ranging from 7% to 19% in flight frequency.
Wingo also highlighted the strong demand for its new Bucaramanga-Santa Marta route, which will launch on March 30 with two weekly frequencies.
Goals for 2025
The airline aims to solidify its position as the largest low-cost carrier in Colombia, both in terms of routes and fleet size. With this capacity increase, Wingo expects to transport approximately 3.6 million passengers in 2025.
"The growing demand on our domestic routes has driven us to expand flight availability across ten key connections. We will continue strengthening our operational network to meet travelers' needs," said Jorge Jiménez, Wingo’s Vice President of Commercial and Planning.
