Argentina’s National Football Team, rescued by helicopters

This afternoon, the operation to celebrate the Argentine National Team’s victory in the World Cup in Qatar was overwhelmed and after hours of parading among a crowd estimated in millions, it was decided to modify the original ground operation for a helicopter transfer by Prefectura Naval Argentina and the Argentine Federal Police.

At approximately 15:30 the convoy of buses was diverted from the original route so that the players could board two Airbus AS365N3+ Dauphin of the Prefectura Naval. At least two Airbus H135 of the Federal Police are also affected.

At 15:55 the Dauphin took off and made a pass over 9 de Julio Avenue. In total, it is estimated that over four million people took the streets to greet the national squad.

Enzo Fernandez, part of the winning team, posted images on his social networks on board of one of the helicopters.

The Helicopters affected

The AS365 Dauphin is a medium multi-role twin-engine helicopter originally designed and manufactured by Aérospatiale, now owned by Airbus.

The Eurocopter EC135 (now called Airbus Helicopters H135) is a twin-engine civil helicopter manufactured by Airbus Helicopters. The Argentine Federal Police also owns an H145 from the same manufacturer.

Reports indicate that the H-01, a presidential Sikorsky S-76 Spirit, landed at the AFA premises in Ezeiza.

This is a developing story.
