Vueling yesterday announced the addition of Norwegian low-cost carrier Flyr to Vueling Global, its interline platform. From the new partnership, customers of both airlines will have access to an expanded network of destinations, especially in Scandinavia, North Africa and the Middle East.
This digital solution is powered by Icelandic company Dohop, whose API-based technology facilitates the creation of partnerships and optimises interline air services. The system allows users to book a multi-leg journey, covered by more than one operator, in a single booking process.
The Vueling Global platform has been available since June 2021. Since then, it has allowed the Barcelona-based airline to expand its business model based on the European regional market by marketing services provided by other airlines.
The new partnership between Flyr and Vueling
Both airlines can now offer their passengers an expanded range of air connections. Vueling customers have more choice on the Norwegian domestic market and in Scandinavia. On the other hand, Flyr passengers have access to more transit options between Malaga and other cities in Spain, North Africa and the Middle East.
«Vueling continues investing on the virtual interlining technology through this partnership with Flyr», said Jesús Monzó, Vueling’s Distribution and Alliances Manager. «Our customers will benefit from an enhanced value proposition, increased merchandising capabilities, and expanded network», he added.
«At Flyr we are pleased that this opportunity to partner with Vueling and Dohop we will be able to offer our guests, and an increased number of potential guests, a wider reach to international destinations and enjoy the benefits of interlining advanced technology», said Thomas Ramdahl, CEO of Flyr.
