The UK Remains easyJet’s Primary Market
Johan Lundgren, CEO of easyJet, highlighted the importance of the UK market, stating, «The UK is easyJet’s largest market, with 55% of all easyJet passengers flying to and from UK airports. This initiative will further solidify our position as the UK’s leading airline.»
In response to burgeoning travel demand, easyJet has been progressively expanding its operations. In fact, this year, the airline launched its most extensive summer schedule in the UK, surpassing its pre-pandemic offering by 8%. In the peak season, it is set to offer over one million seats and 57 new routes, including 23 originating from the UK.
From its base in Birmingham (BHX), the airline currently connects passengers to sought-after destinations such as Amsterdam, Geneva, Milan, Naples, Lisbon, Faro, and Palma de Mallorca. The increased presence at the airport will facilitate the introduction of new routes.
