Brazil is the principal international market for Aerolíneas Argentinas. Operations to that country are carried out from Bariloche, Buenos Aires, Córdoba, El Calafate, Mendoza and Salta, in addition to San Martín de los Andes, Tucumán and Ushuaia during the high season.
The Brazilian cities where the company operates are Brasilia, Curitiba, Rio de Janeiro, Salvador and Sao Paulo, besides Florianopolis in the summer.

Aerolíneas Argentinas is the main carrier in the Argentina – Brazil market, considering the number of routes and connections. The top 3 is completed by GOL and LATAM, both airlines based in Brazil.
In January and February, due to the high season, all companies increased their operations in this market, particularly Aerolíneas Argentinas, which added summer services from Buenos Aires, Córdoba, Mendoza and Rosario.

Current network between Argentina and Brazil
Final conclusions
- Sao Paulo is Aerolineas Argentinas’ main destination in Brazil, since it operates from Bariloche, Buenos Aires, Córdoba, El Calafate, Mendoza and Salta, in addition to San Martin de los Andes, Tucumán and Ushuaia in season.
- Rio de Janeiro is in second place in importance. The company has almost three daily services to and from Buenos Aires. In the summer it operated flights to Córdoba, Rosario and Mendoza, the latter until April 9th.
- Salvador had an average occupancy rate of 90%. Aerolíneas Argentinas had six weekly operations while GOL, its main competitor, had one per week.
- Florianópolis was served by the company until the beginning of March, in the case of Buenos Aires. Flights from Córdoba and Rosario, which were scheduled until March, were terminated in February.
- Brasilia and Curitiba maintained their numbers, with around 80% occupancy in some weeks. In terms of occupancy, Porto Alegre is Aerolíneas Argentinas’ weakest destination in Brazil.
- In the last three, the company has no direct competitor (non-stop flights).
- Despite the decrease in frequency, February was a great month for the Sao Paulo – Salta route, which closed with 87% occupancy. Bariloche also had a decrease in the number of flights, reaching 73% between its two monthly flights.
This Tuesday (11), Aerolíneas Argentinas will inaugurate flights between Mendoza and Sao Paulo, with two services per week.
