On October 1, Qatar Airways Cargo has started exclusive cargo operations to Warsaw, Poland. The cargo carrier will schedule one weekly flight on Sunday during the winter season. This service will provide 100 tons of weekly cargo capacity on a freighter aircraft.
QR 8009 was operated on a Boeing 777F registered A7-BFB. On the first leg, the aircraft took off from Hamad International Airport (DOH) at 09:56 local time and landed at Liege Airport (LGG) at 15:09. The final leg was flown as flight QR 8807 which departed Liege at 16:45 and arrived at Warsaw Chopin Airport at 18:13.
Warsaw is currently the only destination operated by the airline in Poland, the current passenger schedule offers 10 weekly flights operated on Airbus A330-300 and Airbus A320. The addition of a new dedicated cargo service from the Polish capital will increase the total weekly cargo capacity by 200 tons.
With the introduction of freighter aircraft operations, Polish companies benefit from the direct capacity of main deck freighters for their imports and exports, which mostly consist of general cargo and perishables.

Qatar Airways Cargo has a significant presence in Eastern Europe and currently operates seven destinations in the region, providing both passenger and cargo services. In addition to Warsaw, the cargo airline provides structural cargo capacity to and from Budapest, Prague, Bucharest, Zagreb, Belgrade and Sofia.
