The private jets of football’s biggest current stars: Who owns what?

World football stars are not only known for their skills on the field but also for the extravagant lifestyle they lead off it. With salaries that can exceed millions of euros per month, sponsorships, and advertising contracts, these athletes stand out among the wealthiest in the world.

With a combined total of almost half a billion euros annually just between the top ten players in the 2024 European Championship, it’s no surprise that many of them choose to flaunt their wealth through private jets.

Among the players, Toni Kroos, a former Real Madrid star, admitted to spending up to €220,000 per away game just to fly on a private jet and be with his family. This commitment to not spending a single night away from his wife and children perfectly illustrates how valuable time is for these athletes.

One of the manufacturers that has won the hearts of many football stars is the American company Gulfstream. The popularity of the brand is reflected in the jets of some of the most recognized players, according to a report from our associated media, Aeroin.

For example, Cristiano Ronaldo owns an impressive Gulfstream G650, known for its range of more than 12,000 kilometers and a maximum speed of 982 km/h. This luxurious jet can accommodate up to 18 passengers and is equipped with modern amenities, often showcased on social media, especially by his partner Georgina Rodríguez.

Lionel Messi is not far behind, owning a Gulfstream V with an impressive range of 9,600 kilometers and a speed of 850 km/h. The jet, registered as LV-IRQ, has room for 16 people and has been personalized with a personal touch: his iconic number 10 jersey is emblazoned on the tail, alongside the names of his family on the jet’s stairs.

Another notable name is Paul Pogba, currently at Juventus, who opted for a different version of Gulfstream, the G280. With space for 9 passengers and a range of around 6,700 kilometers, the Frenchman’s jet is another example of the lavish style of elite players.

Meanwhile, Brazilian star Neymar, in his journey through Saudi football, owns a Citation Sovereign 680 (registration PR-SMK) and a Falcon 900EX (registration PS-NJR, featured in the opening image). The first offers a flight range of approximately 5,200 kilometers and a top speed of 849 km/h, accommodating up to 12 people. The second can fly around 8,000 km with capacity for 12 passengers.

Zlatan Ibrahimović also joins the stars with his Cessna Citation Longitude, a business jet that can fly up to 6,500 kilometers, reflecting the luxurious lifestyle these athletes enjoy.

This list is not exhaustive, as many other renowned players also own executive jets, but it serves to illustrate how some of football’s biggest stars travel.

These private jets are not only symbols of wealth but also a reflection of the lifestyle of football stars, who seek comfort and style during their travels around the world. In the world of football, private aviation has become more than a necessity; it is an extension of each athlete’s status and personality.
