Brazilian manufacturer Embraer delivered fourteen aircraft to customers in the first three months of the year, the company said. In total, six commercial aircraft and eight business jets were delivered. At the end of March, the value of the firm order book stood at US$17.3 billion.
The company delivered eight fewer aircraft than in the same period last year. However, its order book grew by 21.8%; in the same quarter of 2021, it was US$14.2 billion. During those months, Embraer delivered nine aircraft for the commercial sector and another thirteen for operators in the executive market.
In the defense segment, the manufacturer highlighted the signing of two contracts with the Brazilian Army. The agreements include the acquisition of four units of the SABER M60 radar, an airborne target searching equipment already in use by the force, and the development and deployment of the second phase of SISFRON, Brazil’s integrated land border monitoring system.
In addition, the company signed a comprehensive agreement with Nigerian airline Air Peace for the long-term provision of services and support for its ERJ-145 and E195-E2 fleet. The contract also includes access to the Pool Programme, which offers customers the possibility to receive support for the exchange and repair of aircraft components.
The initiative currently serves more than fifty airlines. Also in March, Embraer agreed to extend the program contract with German Airways. The manufacturer’s support in this area facilitates savings in maintenance and components inventory costs, in addition to optimizing the space allocated to their storage.
Finally, the company highlighted the bottom line of its business jets sales in 2021. In this regard, it highlighted the delivery of 56 Phenom 300 aircraft during the past year and the continuity of the model as a leader in this market. According to Embraer, it has delivered an average of 50 of these light business jets per year since its launch in 2009.
