United Aircraft Corporation (UAC), a part of the state conglomerate Rostec, is set to receive five hundred million rubles from the government to further the development of the Il-114.
The decree, endorsed by the Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, Mikhail Mishustin, stipulates that in 2024, “498 million rubles should be allocated from the federal budget to UAC for financing the expenses related to the improvement of the Il-114 aircraft under the federal project ‘State Support for Russian Aircraft Manufacturing Organizations’.” At the current exchange rate, 498 million rubles are approximately equal to 5.4 million US dollars. As per the decree, the provision of budgetary investments will lead to suitability certificates for components following additional certification work on at least three modernized systems of the Il-114-300 aircraft.
The Il-114-300 is equipped with two TV7-117ST-01 engines produced by UEC-Klimov in St. Petersburg. In early December 2022, the Federal Air Transport Agency issued a type certificate for the TV7-117ST-01 engine. This power plant is a turboprop with a takeoff power of 3100 hp. The engine is controlled by an innovative Full Authority Digital Engine Control (FADEC) system and operates in conjunction with the new AB112-114 propeller.

The IL-114-300 is fully equipped with parts and components made in Russia (including the engines). The model is designed to carry up to 50 passengers and loads of up to five tons. Russia aims to sell up to 100 aircraft of this model by 2030, competing with ATR or De Havilland Canada.
Rostec’s objective with the Il-114-300 is the replacement of the Antonov An-24, in service in Russia and in the CIS member countries. It has a range of up to 1,200 km and a cruising speed of 470 km/h. The model is expected to enter commercial operation in the period 2024-2025.
