In what represents a new step towards a low-cost model Avianca will launch its on-board sales program starting December 1, which will include more than 40 options for drinks, snacks, combos and other products such as blankets.
This implementation affects domestic flights in Colombia and Ecuador, and international flights within the Americas. In long-haul services to and from Europe, as well as on the Bogotá – Los Angeles – Bogotá route, Avianca will continue to include catering and other amenities at no extra charge.
«We want customers to continue deciding why they want to pay, so now we give them the option to choose their meals on board,» said Frederico Pedreira, Avianca’s Chief Operating Officer.
«We are presenting a new on-board sales offer with more than 40 options that are in line with our purpose of offering an increasingly personalized product, because through our fare scheme, our customers already choose how to fly and now they will be able to choose which eat in the middle of the clouds. In this way, we continue to get in tune with the industry and the client, and consolidate our vision of being an Avianca for All”, he added.
In a second stage more products and means of payment will be included, while entrepreneurs from Colombia, El Salvador and Ecuador have also been invited to join as suppliers.
