BOC Aviation Limited announced that it will deliver a total of 14 Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft to TUI Airways under a leasing agreement. The deliveries are scheduled to take place between 2025 and 2026.

The TUI Group has a fleet of 42 Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft, distributed across its subsidiaries in Germany, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, Sweden, and Belgium. The first aircraft of this model joined the company on January 29, 2018, as part of a 2013 order for 60 units divided between the 737 MAX 8 and 737 MAX 9.

In 2016, TUI announced the purchase of 10 additional units of the most successful model from the U.S. manufacturer, bringing the total to 70 firm aircraft orders. During the 2017 Paris Air Show, the German company announced the conversion of 18 units out of the 70 pending orders to the largest model in the family, the Boeing 737 MAX 10. However, its entry into service still lacks an estimated date, as Boeing suspended the program due to quality issues in the production of the 737 MAX family.

BOC Aviation CEO Steven Townend stated, «With this financing, we are once again collaborating with our existing customer, TUI, to build their next-generation aircraft fleet. With the delivery of these aircraft planned over the next two years, this transaction will contribute to our portfolio of investments and income.»

The TUI Group is composed of seven subsidiaries in France, Germany, the United Kingdom, Sweden, the Netherlands, and Ireland, with a global fleet of 134 aircraft, predominantly Boeing models, spanning both narrow-body and wide-body categories. All subsidiaries operate aircraft from the U.S. manufacturer, except for Corsair, which has Airbus A330s, and TUI Fly Belgium, which operates three Embraer E195-E2s.
