Official presentation of Norse Atlantic, a new carrier founded by former Norwegian executives

Yesterday August 10 the brand image of Norse Atlantic Airways, the new Norwegian low cost long haul airline, was officially unveiled. It was founded in March this year and will seek to occupy the market position previously held by Norwegian.

The new carrier unveiled the colors of its Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft. According to Aviacionline’s partner site AEROIN, the livery and basic branding elements were developed by an in-house team in collaboration with a local agency.

“Like the Nordic Vikings who traveled and explored the world with their ships, Norse Atlantic Airways will give people the opportunity to explore other continents by offering affordable flights aboard the modern and environmentally friendly Boeing 787 Dreamliner,” said Norse CEO Bjørn Tore Larsen.

Fleet and operational plans

The aircraft will be primarily white with some forward fuselage detailing in navy blue. The Dreamliner’s tail features a silver logo – inspired by the Oseberg, a Viking ship found in an impeccable state of preservation at the turn of the last century – on a two-tone blue mix. They will be configured in two classes, economy and premium economy.

The company believes that demand for transatlantic travel will have fully recovered from the effects of the pandemic by the end of the first quarter of 2022. It expects its 15 Dreamliners to be flying between the United States and Europe by that date. Their destinations will be New York, Los Angeles, Miami, London, Paris and Oslo. As more aircraft are added to its fleet, the company plans to expand its network to destinations in Asia.

“Our plans are on track. We plan to begin operations when restrictions are lifted and demand for transatlantic travel returns,” Larsen said. “Based on the current situation we anticipate that our fifteen aircraft will be operating at full capacity next summer. Ticket sales will begin approximately three months before the first flight,” he added. He also posited that the employee headcount will reach 1,600 by the summer of 2022. The company emphasizes its fruitful relationship with the largest flight attendant union in the United States, AFA.
